These dried apricots are a seasonal selection from the many varieties of apricots that we grow organically. The fruit’s brief harvest season is the source of an old egyptian saying, “fel meshmesh” or “in the apricot,” used much like english speakers would say “once in a blue moon.” something is “fel meshmesh” when it’s unlikely to happen because the time for it is so brief. Luckily when we dry apricots, the fleeting season extends all year round.
